Step 1 โ€” Contact the Research Analyst

In case of any grievance / complaint, approach the concerned Research Analyst. The grievance must be resolved within 30 days.

Step 2 โ€” SEBI SCORES Portal

If not redressed satisfactorily, lodge a complaint with SEBI on the SCORES portal โ€” a centralised web-based redressal system. SEBI takes up complaints with the intermediary for timely resolution and facilitates tracking.

Do's โ€” Investor Responsibilities

โœ“Ensure the Research Analyst has a valid registration certificate.
โœ“Check for SEBI registration number.
โœ“Refer to the list of all SEBI registered Research Analysts on the SEBI website.
โœ“Pay attention to disclosures made in research reports before investing.
โœ“Pay your Research Analyst through banking channels only and maintain duly signed receipts.
โœ“Check research recommendations before buying securities or applying in public offers.
โœ“Ask all relevant questions and clear doubts before acting on any recommendation.
โœ“Inform SEBI about Research Analysts offering assured or guaranteed returns.
Don'ts โ€” What to Avoid
โœ—Do not provide funds for investment to the Research Analyst.
โœ—Don't fall prey to luring advertisements or market rumours.
โœ—Do not get attracted to limited period discounts or incentives, gifts, etc. offered by Research Analysts.
โœ—Do not share login credentials and password of your trading and demat accounts with the Research Analyst.
โš  Attention Investors
๐Ÿ”’Prevent Unauthorised Transactions in your account. Update your Mobile Numbers / Email IDs with your stock brokers. Receive information of your transactions directly from the Exchange on your Mobile / Email at the end of the day.
๐Ÿ“ฒPrevent Unauthorised Transactions in your demat account. Update your Mobile Number with your Depository Participant. Receive alerts on your Registered Mobile for all debit and other important transactions directly from CDSL on the same day. (Issued in the interest of Investors)
๐Ÿ“KYC is a one-time exercise โ€” once KYC is done through a SEBI-registered intermediary (Broker, DP, Mutual Fund, etc.), you need not undergo the same process again when you approach another intermediary.
๐ŸฆInvestors need not issue cheques while subscribing to IPO. Just write the bank account number and sign in the application form to authorise your bank to make payment in case of allotment. No worries regarding refund since the money remains in your account.
๐Ÿ“ŒStock Brokers can accept securities as margin from clients only by way of pledge in the depository system w.e.f. September 1, 2020. Update your Mobile Number and Email ID to receive OTP directly from the depository to create pledge.
